在今年的CES 2008上，微软展示了Windows Home Server Power Pack 1（WHS PP1），其中包括WHS的数据保护功能，也就是说我们可以给备份服务器做备份。但是，微软突然说这个功能将不会随PP1发布，原因是它存在与连接器的交互问题。当用户在使用不完全备份或中断恢复过程时，可能会丢失数据，因此，微软暂不发布此功能。微软的解释如下：

"The feature had to be cut due to the interplay with the connector install and the fact that consumers may hork their backup database by doing an incomplete backup or interrupting the restore process. The team will look to add this functionality in a future release after PowerPack 1"
