TechEd 2007：Windows Server 2008 Core 再添新角色

本次TechEd 2007上。微软产品经理Andrew Mason官方宣布：Windows虚拟化服务（代码名：Viridian）将会成为第九大服务器角色。之前，我们报道过II7成为了第七大角色，那么第八大角色是什么？

第八大角色就是：Windows Media Services（Windows媒体服务），有了它就可以在无人值守的服务器上运行流媒体，从而不需要在服务器显示播放中的媒体。

另外，Mason也证实：目前没有运行在Itanium（安腾，英特尔的IA-64架构的纯64位微处理器）上的服务器角色计划。
