Longhorn Server不会被称为像“Vista”之类的名字，会有一个年份标记：Windows Server 200X（如Windows Server 2008）。

当前的计划是2007年下半年发布，所以猜想其名称会是Windows Server 2008。当然，也有可能与Office 2007、Exchange Server 2007一致，叫做Windows Server 2007。
