苹果展示新版Mac OS X 'Leopard'

在旧金山的苹果世界开发者大会上，苹果CEO Steve Jobs提供了Mac OS X V10.5——Leopard的一瞥。Leopard被戏称为Vista 2.0，Jobs说他不会透露所有的新功能或者其他可能被复制的功能。
被演示的功能包括64位应用程序的完全原生支持，并且32位和64位程序能够同时运行，无需借助模拟器或转换器。

另一项功能是“Time Machine”，被用来防止数据丢失。一般只有26％的用户做备份，Leopard将会自动备份Mac。如果文件发生变化，较早版本会被保存，可以随时还原。
文件无需经过全部还原即可预览，整个桌面都可以及时恢复到一个还原点，更像是微软提供的系统还原功能。苹果说Time Machine预Finder良好结合，但是同时也兼容第三方程序。
如预期一样，苹果也提供了Boot Camp程序，该程序的Beta版本已经获得500,000次的下载。虚拟桌面可以让用户创建不同空间让众多应用程序一起运行。
苹果在Mac OS X 10.4中引入的搜索功能：Spotlight在Leopard中被改进。该功能可以搜索网络上的其他Mac，高级搜索功能可以指定文件类型和其他细节。
iChat支持多个登陆、动画图标、视频录制和标签聊天。新功能"iChat Theater"会显示家庭和朋友幻灯片，同时支持背景和视频背景。

- Dashboard - New Dashcode tool allows visual template-based Widget development. There's also a new Web Clip app that takes any part of a web page and turns it into a Widget.
- iChat - Allows multiple logins, invisible mode, animated buddy icons, video recording and tabbed chats (hooray.) There's also photo booth effects, iChat Theater (slideshows, Keynote presentations and videos displayed over video chat), and photo/video backdrops.
