微软11月底发布：Visual Studio 2008和.NET Framework 3.5
在微软TechED 2007开发大会上，微软开发部联合副总裁S."Soma" Somasegar宣布：微软将会在2007年11月底发布Visual Studio 2008 和 .NET Framework 3.5，并将会提供令人注目的Windows Vista、Windows Server 2008、2007 Office system、移动设备和Web体验。

同时，Soma也透露计划想Visual Studio合作伙伴开放新的机会，以及发布新的工具及资源，并且包括刚刚发布的第一个Sync Framwork CTP和新Popfly Explorer。而且，微软允许首席Visual Studio Industry Partners在共享源代码授权下查看一些Visual Studio IDE源代码。新的VS 2008授权协议也不再限制开发合作伙伴仅仅开发针对Windows的产品。
