Spyware Filters Appliance

Spyware Filters Appliance

Some spyware filters are available as appliances, but many of these are complex to install and use, which makes them less ideal for smaller businesses that lack the time and expertise that such appliances demand. However, UK-based CronLab's has developed a model of spyware appliance call the Light 1100 that offers simple installation and maintenance-free operation.

This appliance is a small and quiet desktop box that is designed for businesses with up to 70 users. It provides anti-spam and anti virus measures along with phishing, spyware and spoofing protection. It runs the open source SpamAssassin with a complete set of policies, and it also features some proprietary touches by CronLab. The appliance includes ClamAV to handle viruses and CronLab can also add BitDefender. Updates are automatic and users do not have access to the anti-spam policies or the scoring system as they are all managed by CronLab.
