The website for Eclipse Antivirus software claims that it has won numerous awards from the British tech press, but these claims are certifiably false. The virus protection software appears to be a fake, and could be part of a scam by con-men to net unwitting victims.
These scams often notify victims that that they have a virus on their PC to convince them to give credit-card details to install remote access software to remove it. Eclipse bears many of the hallmarks of one of these scams, including a convincing-looking website, the use of Microsoft-style security logos and "customer testimonials" about how brilliant the software is. However, there is no postal address or telephone number listed, and the checkout page looks sketchy. The website is registered to an address in Kiev, so the chance of tracking down the perpetrators is slim. Reporting these sites to the search engines to have them removed or blacklisted is the best thing you can do.
